I'm guessing in the sequel, when he returns as Winter Soldier, he will die the heroic death. Sad, because Bucky/WS was one of my favourite comic book heroes. And "was" because those fuckers at Marvel killed him off recently.
Well, seeing how many AUs are there, one of them probably has Bucky still alive and kicking. I'm betting on those where Civil War didn't happen (eg. where Cap and Tony actually sat down and talked their shit out or the one where Tony is born a girl and CW never happened to begin with).
